FCC 'Diversity' Czar, Mark Lloyd, on Socialist Chavez's Venezuela: 'Incredible...Democratic Revolution'
Editor's Note: Audio for the video at right is available here.
We have written often about Mark Lloyd, who has since his July 29 appointment been reveling in the position created just for him, "Chief Diversity Officer" at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
As we have repeatedly stated, Chief Diversity Officer Lloyd is virulently anti-capitalist, almost myopically racially fixated and exuberantly pro-regulation.
(It will come as no surprise to those who follow the work of the Media Research Center to learn that Lloyd was also at one time, prior to attending law school, an Emmy Award-winning journalist and producer for among other outlets NBC and CNN.)
Lloyd is in fact a Saul Alinsky disciple. In his 2006 book entitled Prologue to a Farce: Communication and Democracy in America, he calls for an all-out "confrontational movement" against private media. He wants leftist activists - through incessant political pressure - and the government - through the creation of a totally untenable operating environment of fees, fines and regulations - to work together to force the commercial broadcasters out, to be replaced by public broadcasters.
John Holdren, Obama's Science Czar, says: Forced abortions and mass sterilization needed to save the planet
MADNESS AT THE WHITEHOUSE Continues...
Forced abortions. Mass sterilization. A "Planetary Regime" with the power of life and death over American citizens.
The tyrannical fantasies of a madman? Or merely the opinions of the person now in control of science policy in the United States? Or both?
These ideas (among many other equally horrifying recommendations) were put forth by John Holdren, whom Barack Obama has recently appointed Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology -- informally known as the United States' Science Czar. In a book Holdren co-authored in 1977, the man now firmly in control of science policy in this country wrote that:

NEW YORK — The United Nations is recommending that children as young as five receive mandatory sexual education that would teach even pre-kindergarteners about masturbation and topics like gender violence. The U.N. insists the program is "age appropriate," but critics say it's exposing kids to sex far too early, and offers up abstract ideas — like "transphobia" — they might not even understand.

SF’s Human Services Agency Acts After CalCatholic Story
Publicity generated by California Catholic Daily’s story of August 11 “Adoptive Dads Sought on S/M Webpage” has caused the city of San Francisco to pull the AdoptionSF ads from San Francisco’s Bay Area Reporter and the SF Bay Times.
The CalCatholic story reported that AdoptionSF, which is a collaboration between the city of San Francisco’s Human Services Agency and Family Builders by Adoption (who, until June 30, 2009, had been Catholic Charities adoptions’ partner) were running adoption ads featuring two adoptive men and a little boy on the “Mister Marcus” s/m page of the Bay Area Reporter. Subsequent to the original story, California Catholic Daily learned that similar AdoptionSF ads were also running on the “porn” page of the SF Bay Times, another homosexually-oriented publication. The ad on the SF Bay Times “porn” page showed two women and a teenaged girl.
The article’s author sent a letter to the Human Services Agency asking if they were aware of these ads, and on August 24 received a response from Mr. Trent Rohrer, executive director of the agency. Mr. Rohrer said, in part:
“We work in collaboration with Family Builders to recruit adoptive homes for foster youth, However, we were not aware nor would we ever authorize the use of these ads for any type of inappropriate websites and publications.
“Efforts have been made to contact a representative from Family Builders. We are in the process of resolving this matter and plan to pull the ads immediately. I am certain that the postings in the specific sites you mentioned must have occurred as the result of some type of error.”

CIA Officers Involved in Legally Approved Interrogation Program Feared Government Would ‘Not Stand Behind Them,’ Says Inspector General Report
Tuesday, August 25, 2009
By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief
(CNSNews.com) - Officers of the Central Intelligence Agency involved in a terrorist interrogation program that had been reviewed by the Justice Department, authorized by agency superiors, approved by top administration officials and repeatedly briefed to leaders of the intelligence committees in the House and Senate nonetheless feared that the U.S. government would not “stand behind them” if they were later targeted for legal action because of the tough techniques used in the program, according to a report by the CIA’s Office of Inspector General.
On Monday, Atty. Gen. Eric Holder took a step toward justifying those fears, when it was reported he was naming a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA’s interrogation of detained terrorists.
Our Political Climate would justify an evning watching the movie "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington "
From www.tcm.com
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Though it’s now universally revered as an ode to democratic ideals, Frank Capra’s Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) was originally denounced by many Washington power-brokers. That may come as a bit of a shock if you haven’t seen this
If not subversive, the movie is at least driven by a strong distaste for the misuse of power by our elected officials. This was an exceptionally gutsy message at a time when Americans were concerned with the rise of Nazism overseas, and Capra surely knew he would ruffle a few feathers. But he put his foot down and said exactly what he wanted to say, much like the film’s patriotic lead character. This is the kind of movie that makes you want to light up a sparkler.

Fairness Doctrine Raises Its Ugly Head Under New FCC “Diversity Czar”

[Keep an eye as the Obamers attempt to use Mark Lloyd to kill conservative talk radio while expanding the radical left voice on the radio waves with other people's money, including your taxes.]
What’s a poor liberal progressive to do when the radio airwaves are dominated by conservative talk and they can’t seem to “get a word in”? Why not diversify it? After Dan Rather got hammered recently for suggesting the news media needs a public handout, now on the horizon is an FCC Diversity Czar calling for private broadcasting companies to fund public broadcasting companies their total operating cost. Matt Cover at CNSNEWS.COM files this report:
(CNSNews.com) - Mark Lloyd, newly appointed Chief Diversity Officer of the Federal Communications Commission, has called for making privateair broadcasting companies pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs to allow public broadcasting outlets to spend the same on their operations as the private companies do. Socialist Joker’ Obama portrait goes viral
By Matthew Shaer | 08.03.09
From the Christian Science Monitor
Back in 2008, when election fever was spiking, the street artist Shepard Fairey created his famous and controversial image of Barack Obama. (In January, the image was acquired by the National Portrait Gallery, in D.C.) Now a conservative graffiti artist – who knew? – has apparently been papering the greater Los Angeles area with images of Barack Obama dressed up as Heath Ledger’s Joker.
Each image appears above a single, block-lettered word: “Socialism.”
According to Associated Content, a “string of Obama Joker posters were first seen in Los Angeles, with a few even getting to Atlanta.” Now, digitized copies of the portraits have gone viral, spiraling across Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr. That’s right kids: the “Socialist Joker” is a real, live Internet meme. Next stop? The front of a T-shirt sold out of Urban Outfitters.
Voter Intimidation OK With Obama-Holder Justice Department if Done by its Side
July 31, 2009 Posted by Paul at 12:10 PM,
from www.powerlineblog.com
We wrote here and here about the Justice Department's dismissal of a voter intimidation case against a group of armed Black Panthers who threatened would-be voters outside a polling place in Philadelphia. The Justice Department won the case after the defendants defaulted (a wise move by them, it turns out), but decided to give the victory away.
This struck us as another instance in which the Obama-Holder Justice Department made its decision based on political considerations, rather than considerations of justice. This was a case in which members of a political organization showed up at a polling place in uniform and carrying weapons for the announced purpose of providing "security."
