Intellectual Integrity: Left-wing magazine Writer says Nancy Pelosi had approved waterboarding
Nation writer plays it straight The details: Columnist John Nichols of the left-wing magazine the Nation said very firmly on a radio show Friday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a favorite of the political left, ought to be held to account for her role in tacitly approving waterboarding. By holding his “side” to the same standards he holds conservatives, Nichols struck a blow for fairness.
SINKING SHIP: WHO: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi !!! from the Washington Examiner
San Francisco’s own Pelosi vehemently denied being informed that harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding were being used on terror suspects while on the House Intelligence Committee. But a 2007 Washington Post story quotes unnamed Bush administration officials who claim Pelosi was not only told about them in graphic detail during a classified 2002 briefing, but — unlike Rep. Jane Harman — never raised any major objections to their use.

The Majority of Americans May Soon be Hate Criminals!
A Democratic congresswoman's candid remarks in the House Judiciary Committee yesterday bolster the fears of Americans who are concerned they one day may be convicted of a "hate crime" for merely publicly expressing their opposition to homosexuality.
The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act was reported out of the Judiciary Committee yesterday in the House (see earlier story). The bill, which is expected to face a vote in the full House on Wednesday, would add gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability to the list of protected categories under federal hate crimes law.
RALPH PETERS: Fire Janet Napolitano
COL. RALPH PETERS, U.S. ARMY (RET.)/FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR:
She [Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano] needs to be fired for her bigoted attitudes toward our military veterans. Then give her a job at the International House of Pancakes because she’s good with waffles.
Look, Janet “from-another-planet” Napolitano has forbade the use of the term Islamist terrorist or Muslim terrorist within the Department of Homeland Security. In fact, she doesn’t want the word terrorist used at all.
But you’ve read this report, Steve, and I encourage all Americans to read it. It repeatedly warns of our military vets being terrorists. She uses “terrorist.” It warns about people who oppose illegal immigration as being terrorist threats, as people who may differ on right-to-life issues as terrorist threats.
Rosa Brooks: the Pentagon’s far left adviser
By Nile Gardiner, a Washington-based foreign affairs analyst and political commentator. Telegraph of London
In what has to be one of the most extreme appointments yet by the Obama Administration, ex-Los Angeles Times columnist and Georgetown law professor Rosa Brooks has just been made an adviser to Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Michelle Fluornoy - a move Brooks describes as "my personal government bailout."
Bailout is certainly the right word for someone who appears to have no relevant national security qualifications for the position. She does though have experience working as Special Counsel for George Soros's Open Society Institute in New York, and as a former adviser to Harold Koh, the hugely controversial nominee for Legal Adviser to the State Department.
The Free World Bars Free Speech

THE THOUGHT POLICE

For years, the Western world has listened aghast to stories out of Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern nations of citizens being imprisoned or executed for questioning or offending Islam. Even the most seemingly minor infractions elicit draconian punishments. Late last year, two Afghan journalists were sentenced to prison for blasphemy because they translated the Koran into a Farsi dialect that Afghans can read. In Jordan, a poet was arrested for incorporating Koranic verses into his work. And last week, an Egyptian court banned a magazine for running a similar poem.
America’s Not a Christian Nation—and I’m a Fat Black Lesbian Who Hates Hunting
Last week Obama told the planet on his Dixie Chick America Sucks Euro-Tour that ol’ bigheaded America is not and has never been a Christian nation. I believe he said that right after he bowed and curtsied to the Saudi King and told the French that the US has been stuck-up meanies to their jealous and ungrateful Euro-socialist cousins. Damn you, Yankee doodle dandies.
America’s not a Christian nation? Well, it’s not a Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim (yet) or Tai Chi nation. I know Barack is auguring for the USA to become an Obamanation, but heretofore from what I’ve read regarding our founders’ beliefs and original intent for this experiment in self-government, this Republic has a massive intentional Judeo-Christian bent to it and not a religiously neutral one. Stevie Wonder can see that.
Barack Obama: President Pantywaist - new surrender monkey on the block
Posted By: Gerald Warner at Apr 10, 2009 at 10:20:05 [General]

President Barack Obama has recently completed the most successful foreign policy tour since Napoleon's retreat from Moscow. You name it, he blew it. What was his big deal economic programme that he was determined to drive through the G20 summit? Another massive stimulus package, globally funded and co-ordinated. Did he achieve it? Not so as you'd notice.
Mexican Bishop will Republish "Decalogue of Electoral Sins", Issues That Disqualify Candidates From Catholic Vote
Mexico City, Mexico, (CNA) -- Despite lawsuits and threats against him, Cuernavaca Bishop Florencio Olvera Ochoa says he will continue defending the right to life, and will republish his “Decalogue of Electoral Sins” for the July 5, 2009 federal legislative elections.
Bishop Olvera was the target of lawsuits because of the Decalogue he published during the previous election season, when he pointed out the issues that disqualify a candidate from receiving the Catholic vote: support for abortion, euthanasia, homosexual “marriage,” genetic manipulation and the denial of the right of parents to educate their children.
This year the bishop published an updated version of his guide -- and again became the target of criticisms and threats.
